Chef Zai welcomes you to Selera Singapore, tapas style dining with an Asian flare!
Her deep passion for cooking began at a young age, helping her mother, Pathumal, prepare meals for the large family of 9 sisters and brothers. Living in a Singaporean Kampung (village), Zai learned by heart the recipes her mother passed to her from generations before. Once in America, family friends would come over again and again to request their favorite dishes, although they couldn’t quite remember (or pronounce) the names.
Chef Zai’s dream has always been to have a place where she could share these succulent dishes with other families. Selera, ( Malay for “appetite”), is that place. All the dishes at Selera are prepared fresh from scratch daily. The aroma of Southeast Asian spices fill the air as you enjoy the sharing of “tapas” style fare. Whether it be noodles, curries, or fragrant rice, the big, bold flavors of Chef Zai’s kitchen are sure to keep you coming back again and again!
